When I was contacted by a 1978 BMW K100rs owner who was having fork issues he was unable to resolve little did I realise how bad the forks would be.

With an unknown vintage it was obvious by the smell alone that the oil was slowly returning to its unrefined status

With internals rotted and heavily corroded, it was a challenge to meet the owners as original as possible instruction. With spares non existent it was time to become creative. Kerosene, heat and a lot of patience final saw the forks return to life. Rubber valving replace by bespoke nylon parts built in house and the forks were back to as good as new with original patina.

SITRAMOTO - its not all race bikes!
